A Father’s Quest For Justice| Tony Forbes Breaks Silence On AKA’s Murder Case
AKA’s father Tony Forbes has spoken out following reports of the arrest of suspects connected to his son’s murder.
Recently, it has been reported that five people allegedly involved in the assassination of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were reportedly arrested.
When he heard the news, Tony Forbes promptly reached out to the police for updates.
According to reports, Tony Forbes was en route from Johannesburg to Cape Town when news of the suspects’ arrest broke.
In a statement, Forbes did not disclose the details of his conversation with the police.
However, he did express his hope that justice would be served and that those responsible for the crime would be held accountable.
“We would like to see justice being served and the perpetrators brought to book. He’s gone. Someone killed him. Right now, we are grieving. We are keeping an eye on developments in the news and hoping that something positive will happen …,” AKA’s father said.
According to reports, authorities have arrested five suspects in relation to the murder of AKA.
Three of the suspects were taken into custody at an ATM located in the Erica Square mall in Belhar, while the remaining two were arrested in another part of Belhar, according to IOL.
The individuals had been under surveillance for two weeks before the police arrested them. Detectives from the Durban organized crime unit located and traced them to Cape Town.
The arrest follows the discovery of a white Mercedes Benz, suspected to be the getaway car used by the perpetrators of AKA’s murder. The car was found abandoned in the Umlazi township in the southern part of Durban.
