Call for Gifts, Not Donations

In a formal statement seen by Zimoja, the Mngomezulu family appealed for gifts for his funeral. However, they clarified that they are not soliciting donations but welcome gifts from well-wishers to support the late advocate’s burial.

Dear Friends, please note that the below account number is the only account approved by the family for the gifts towards the late Mr. Thulani Mngomezulu. There is no other platform or person that the family has authorised to accept gifts on their behalf,” the letter stated.

Speaking to the media, Sibusiso Mngomezulu emphasized the distinction between gifts and donations.

The family is not asking for donations. They are asking for gifts from those who want to gift the late advocate. Anyone who wants to gift the late advocate is welcome, but please use the account provided by the family to avoid scammers,” he explained.

Mixed Reactions from the Public

The appeal for gifts has garnered varied reactions on social media. While some users pledged their support, others expressed skepticism.
