Boity Thulo Drops Charges Against Bujy Bikwa After Mediation Process
Nearly a year and a half after a violent fight between them, Boity Thulo has decided to drop charges against Bujy Bikwa. The media personality had previously opened a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in 2021 following a heated argument between the two at a hotel in Waterfall, Midrand.
The Legal Battle
The legal proceedings surrounding the case experienced multiple postponements to allow for further investigations. However, on Monday, both Bujy and Boity reached a resolution after going through a mediation process at the Midrand magistrate’s court.
A New Beginning
“We hugged, we spoke, and we are okay. We both agreed we are going to move on and be civil towards one another. I’m at peace, we are both at peace. I think it’s a lesson learned from me, I think from both of us,” Bujy exclusively told TshisaLIVE.
Bujy emphasized that they acknowledged the need to learn from the experience without condoning any form of violence. He also mentioned undergoing therapy to cope with depression and social anxiety that resulted from the incident.
Rebuilding After the Fight
Bujy experienced significant personal and professional setbacks following the altercation. He lost his two TV shows and ambassadorship deals, leading to a downgrade in his lifestyle and a move from a golf estate to a smaller apartment.
“This thing broke me. Going through depression and suffering from social anxiety was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through. It’s been a year. I had to do my own healing. The silence for me was very important for my sanity. I don’t have anything to hide,” Bujy shared.
He expressed the importance of self-forgiveness and learning from the situation, highlighting the emotional turmoil and the necessity to avoid becoming consumed by negative emotions. Bujy revealed his struggle with social situations and his ongoing efforts to adjust and overcome these challenges.
A Positive Path Forward
Boity’s decision to drop the charges against Bujy signifies a step toward healing and moving forward. While the incident took a toll on both individuals, the mediation process allowed them to find common ground and reach a place of understanding.
By prioritizing forgiveness and personal growth, Boity and Bujy aim to embrace a more peaceful and civil relationship. Their story serves as a lesson about the consequences of violence and the importance of empathy and self-care in the face of adversity.
