Book writer Melinda Ferguson has disclosed more damning allegations on the death of rapper AKA and that of his girlfriend, Anele Tembe.
The Book Causing Commotion
Ferguson wrote the book When Love Kills: The Tragic Tale Of AKA and Anele, which shares insider details of the fate of the two lovers. It narrates the tragic story of hip-hop star AKA and his relationship with 21-year-old Anele Tembe.
Ferguson dug and revealed the story from AKA and Anele’s respective sides. She reported that the relationship was marked by toxic obsession, alleged substance abuse and violence.
Anele, 21, died in April 2021 after reportedly falling from a hotel balcony in Cape Town. Her fiancé, AKA, was also at Pepperclub Hotel when tragedy struck. The incident was initially reported as s_icide. However, Anele’s father Moses Tembe has consistently denied that his daughter would harbour those thoughts.
In February 2022, AKA was ruthlessly assassinated outside a now-defunct plush restaurant in Durban. His suspected hitmen are in the dock.

Book Writer Melinda Ferguson Speaks More On The Death Of AKA And Anele Tembe

Sol questioned what Melinda thinks of what really happened to Anele. She casually responded:
“I think something terrible happened. Personally, I think things went out of control. I think there had been a lot of using, a lot of drinking, a lot of drugging (sic) in the Pepperclub [Hotel] amongst the party of people who were there. There was a lot of stuff going down in the Pepperclub that night. I think the two of them were fighting a lot.”
The journalist added that an anonymous witness whispered to her.
Melinda added that she does not think Moses called the shot that ended AKA’s life. She opined that whoever orchestrated the death of AKA was acting in revenge. The journo admitted that she, however, did not have proof of this.
She also said there’s a conspiracy theory that an ultra-anti-GBV group could have hired the hitmen.
