South African Actor, musician and producer Mbongeni Ngema has died.
The news was shared this evening that the AActor was involved in a car crash that took his life today, on the 27th of December.
The family announced the passing of the Actor in a message that has been shared on social media.
Mbongeni Ngema died in a head-on collision. He was a passenger in the vehicle returning from a funeral in the Eastern Cape.
The Actor’s family, friends and fans are devastated by the news of the passing of the legendary artist. His family will share Funeral arrangements in due course.
Notable achievements during his lifetime
Ngema is famously known as the Award-winning and internationally acclaimed Sarafina writer. The movie was nominated for a Grammy and five Tony Awards and starred Whoopi Goldberg, Leleti Khumalo and many others.

Ngema has many blockbusters under his belt and is a legend in theatre. Mbongeni Ngema was added to the New York ‘Walk of Fame’ in 1997 before the Lucille Lortel Theatre. He was named one of the greatest writers of the 21st century.
Past Controversies and Heath Hoax
Ngema has had his fair share of controversies in the spotlight. The AActor was once under fraud investigations after being accused of corruption with the Minister of Health.
In 2019, A Sarafina cast member accused him of harassment and intimidation, which led to him being removed from his position as co-director of the production. On top of that, his ex-wives, Leleti Khumalo and Xoliswa Nduneni, also accused him of being abusive in their respective marriages.
In 2021, fake news that the Actor had died was spread but quickly shut down as he was still alive and kicking.
