The Fall of a Star: Jub Jub’s Troubled History and Future
Jub Jub’s arrest has sparked a public outcry and a media frenzy, as many people are wondering how the once-popular musician and TV personality could have gone so wrong. Jub Jub started his career as a child star in a Coca-Cola advert with soccer legend Doctor Khumalo1. He then rose to fame as a hip hop artist, achieving platinum status for his albums “Rare Breed” and “My Shine”.
He also hosted several TV shows such as Jam Alley, Channel O and Selimathunzi2. They were released on parole in 2017 after serving four years.
After his release, Jub Jub claimed to have changed his ways and asked for forgiveness. He released a song called “Ke Kopa Tshwarelo” (Please forgive me) and became the host of the Moja Love reality show Uyajola 9/9, which exposes cheating partners.
He also remade his hit song “Ndikhokhele” in 2020 and released a gospel song called “Ngi thembe wena” in 2021. However, his latest arrest has cast doubt on his redemption story and put his career and freedom at risk.
