Cindy Makhathini Speaks Out Against Fake X (Twitter) Account

During an emotional Instagram Live session, Cindy vented her anger at a specific X account that’s been impersonating her for a while. The socialite explained that the fake account has caused her numerous problems, as many people assume she has an active presence on X—when in fact, she doesn’t.

According to Cindy, the person behind the fake profile not only impersonates her but also comments on trending topics that she’d prefer to stay out of. Growing visibly upset, she revealed that the situation has escalated to the point where she’s willing to pay to get the account removed.

“I am so angry, like I’m angry. You guys don’t know how much trouble this account has put me in, I don’t even know what to say at this point… I would pay R20k to take down that page with pride, and even add R5k on top,” she said.

Mzansi Doesn’t Believe Cindy Makhathini

Despite Cindy’s heartfelt plea, many internet users remain skeptical. Some believe that Cindy may be behind the account herself, claiming she’s conveniently blaming a catfish. Others called for X owner Elon Musk to address the rising issue of identity fraud on the platform, where scammers use celebrities’ names and images to create fake accounts.

Here’s how users reacted:

@Zweli_Thixo:
