Clement Hadebe Shot and Killed After Man He Hooked Up With Found Out He Was Not A Woman
In a disturbing incident, a 29-year-old man was shot and killed after a man he hooked up with found out he was not a woman.
Clement Hadebe, originally from Madadeni in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, was found shot nine times at a bed and breakfast in Johannesburg early on Monday morning.
The Fatal Encounter
According to Zimoja, Hadebe had gone out with friends on Sunday to the popular KwaMai Mai Market in downtown Johannesburg. There, he met a man who, along with two friends, joined Hadebe’s group. The men offered to buy drinks for Hadebe and his friends, which they accepted.
One of Hadebe’s friends, who requested anonymity, recounted the events of that night.
“They offered to buy us drinks. We couldn’t say no to free booze,” the friend revealed.
He added that when one of the men showed interest in Hadebe, he advised him to disclose his s*xuality.
“I could tell that the guy is straight, but Hadebe just played along. When he asked Hadebe to go home with him, I again called him to the side and begged him to reveal his s*xuality, but he brushed me off,” the friend revealed.
Despite his friend’s warnings, Hadebe left with the man and his companions. Another friend mentioned that he had accompanied them in the car but was later ordered to get out.
“They only wanted to be with Hadebe,” the friend said.

Murder Investigation Underway
The following day, Hadebe’s body was discovered at a BnB in Johannesburg, riddled with nine gunshot wounds. His friends believe he was murdered after the man realized Hadebe was gay.
“The guy spent a lot of money on us and was sure he had taken a woman home,” said one of Hadebe’s friends. “But that did not give him the right to kill. He could have just let him go.”
Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza confirmed that the police were investigating the murder.
“A murder docket is being investigated after a man was shot and killed on Monday,” Kweza stated.

Here are some of the reactions;

Naye bekayaphi knowing he didn’t disclose his s*xuality. Aii he should’ve told the gent, none of this would’ve happened
@MampuruKatleho;
The man is straight and he found out that he probably kissed a man and was about to have s*x with him if they didn’t get there yet. He took it too far by killing him, he could’ve just chased him out his room.
@Nkulipp;
This is sad. May his soul rest in peace. Community members need to declare their gender before accepting anything from man because some gents don’t mind going an extra mile.
@B__master;
These killings should stop.
People should be allowed to be whatever they want.
Clement bekuyintwana yasekasi e-grand.
@TyNdi08;
No one has a right to take someone life period. But in other situations we get ourselves into, he was advised to declare his sexuality but he didn’t that was also wrong from him
