Actors and Actresses Left in Limbo: Sindi Dlathu Among Those Unpaid

Sindi Dlathu, who, along with Linda Mtoba, recently joined forces on the BET Africa series called Queendom, following the conclusion of the popular 1Magic series, The River. However, their excitement was short-lived due to the ongoing issue of unpaid salaries from Clive Morris Productions.

In response, the cast and crew of “Queendom” have taken a stand by refusing to work until they receive their rightful compensation. An insider, speaking to Zimoja, confirmed the delays in payments and criticized the production company for its lack of professionalism.

“They sent out letters saying payments were delayed, but this is nonsense,” he said before adding, “Why do we always have to go to the media to expose them for us to be paid? We worked so pay, it’s that simple.”

Nambitha Ben Mazwi, who plays the role of Lean on the upcoming show “Empini,” is said to have confronted the producers directly about the issue, expressing her frustration and demanding action.

“She is furious and not taking things lightly. She threw a fit on set yesterday and her point is valid.”

Producer’s Response Raises Questions

When approached for comment by ZiMoja, Executive Producer Khayelihle Dominique Gumede claimed that all cast and crew of both “Queendom” and “Empini” had been paid as of April 5th. However, he did not explain the delays in payments.

“There was a slight delay coming from Easter break. Cast and crew on Queendom and Empini have been fully paid as of today,” he says.

Contrary to Gumede’s statement, the source insists that payments have yet to be received by the affected individuals.
