Despite the slump in viewership, it’s highly unlikely that Skeem Saam will be given the axe.
Skeem Saam has been around for long, such that the showrunners know the tricks of the trade.
The show has been around for 9 years now and they didn’t get this far by telling lacklustre stories.
A simple turnaround in the storylines can easily change the fate of a show and pull in record-breaking viewers.
The current storyline involving Pretty and Nimza is definitely the one to make the bank.
Other main soapies like The Queen, Generations, Muvhango have suffered a decrease in viewership in the past, but still managed to stay on air and bounce back so this could just be a phase.
We can’t wait for more interesting storylines on the show.
