Continuing DJ Sumbody’s Legacy Through Charity

Zimoja reveals that in a bid to preserve DJ Sumbody’s impact, his family has announced plans to organize a charity event to celebrate Heritage Month.

The event will commemorate the life of Dj Sumbody, who was brutally murdered in a shooting in Johannesburg on the morning of his birthday celebration, along with a friend.

Despite the passage of time, no arrests have been made, leaving his family still searching for answers.

Ayepyep Lifestyle Cape Town, where DJ Sumbody was a major stakeholder, has teamed up with the DJ Sumbody Foundation, led by his family, to organize the annual Ayepyep Cape Town Charity Golf Day on 20 September. Set to be held at the esteemed Clovelly Golf Club, this event is dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and making a positive impact in their lives.

Supporting the Community

As part of their commitment to giving back, the DJ Sumbody Foundation plans to donate over R100,000 to Eyabantu Educare, a community centre that supports more than 200 children. The foundation, led by DJ Sumbody’s brother, Koketso Sefoka, is dedicated to using the late DJ’s influence to create positive change in South African communities.

The DJ Sumbody Foundation is a legacy project founded by the Sefoka family and partners to be a vehicle of change to the fans of my brother’s work,” Koketso Sefoka stated.

Expanding on the goals of the DJ Sumbody Foundation, Koketso Sefoka emphasized the foundation’s dedication to driving meaningful change in areas that were close to the late DJ’s heart. He highlighted the importance of focusing on ‘entrepreneurship, education, and the arts’ as pillars for empowering the younger generation.

We aim to be an agent of change when it comes to issues such as entrepreneurship, education, and the arts. The Ayepyep Golf Day is just one of the initiatives that we plan on using as tools to help empower the younger generation.”
