Renowned artist Doja Cat’s mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer, has taken legal action seeking a restraining order against her son, Raman Dalithando Dlamini. Additionally, Sawyer aims to secure protection for her superstar daughter in light of the alleged abusive behaviour.
Recent legal documents filed by Sawyer reveal disturbing claims of physical and verbal abuse towards both herself and Doja Cat, whose birth name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini.
Accusations of abuse directed at Doja Cat’s Brother
According to TMZ, incidents include Doja allegedly having “her teeth knocked out by Raman,” sustaining cuts and bruises from physical abuse, and experiencing theft and destruction of her property. Raman is accused of not only being physically abusive but also verbally “degrading and demeaning,” leaving the artist feeling “unsafe and traumatized.”
Sawyer asserts that she has been a victim of physical abuse and threats by Dlamini multiple times over the past year, with the most recent incident occurring earlier this month, according to TMZ sources.

A judge has reportedly granted Sawyer court-ordered protection “pending a hearing for a permanent restraining order.” This is not the first time she has sought such protection, as a previous order has already expired.
For Doja Cat to obtain legal protection from her brother, she will need to file her own case. As of now, she has not addressed the matter on her Instagram or Twitter accounts.
