DSTV adds another intriguing channel
Multichoice’s PayTV, DSTV is launching a new channel come the 15th of this month titled, HONEY, which will be focusing on lifestyle, food, cooking, relationships, weddings, and reality shows from various parts of the African continent.
Honey will be anchored by some of Africa’s most prominent women, including Pearl Umeh from Nigeria, Patricia Kihoro and Foi Wambui from Kenya, and Anele Mdoda, Mbali Nkosi and Anele Zondo from South Africa amongst others.
“HONEY showcases Africans living their best lives, and depicts an honest modern-day view of our diverse countries, cultures, and people. As Africa’s most loved storyteller, DSTV continues to be bold in delivering the best content the continent has to offer, while ensuring that we celebrate the way we live. This is a lifestyle channel made in Africa for Africans by Africans,” said Yolisa Phahle, Multichoice Group CEO of General Entertainment and Connected Video.
Some of the shows to look forward to on the new channel include but not limited to Pastors’ wives, a reality series which features Pastors’ wives from across the continent as they do their best for their families and church communities.
Love Swap is another reality drama series from Nigeria which presents a relationship challenge in which couples swap partners for a home-cooked meal. Each episode will culminate in a joint dinner featuring both couples, during which they share their impressions of each other and what they have learned about their own relationships.
The Buzz is another promising show that will most likely put audiences on the edges of their seats, the talk show features some of the prominent women on the continent which include Anele Mdoda, Pearl Umeh from Nigeria, Rachel Wakesho from Kenya, Zanna Katoka from the DRC, and Davina Mavuwa from Zimbabwe, who will be discussing relatively every topic.
