Actor Mpumi Mpama sustained an injury during the rehearsal of a fight scene. The injury, which occurred near his chest, was the result of an accidental strike with a prop gun. The script had only called for a push, making the incident unexpected and alarming.
Previous Incidents Linked to Actress Nambitha Ben Mazwi
The letter also raised concerns about the on-set behaviour of actress Nambitha Ben Mazwi, stating that her actions have been disruptive to the team’s morale and workflow. It was reported that Mpama’s injury was not the first incident involving Mazwi. Allegations have surfaced that she may have unintentionally caused injuries to at least three to four other cast members during filming.

The crew member explained:
“On the first take of the scene, Mpumi expressed to the director and stunt team that being hit with the prop gun was painful. Despite his concerns, during the second take, the blow was even harder, resulting in the injury that sent him to the hospital.”
The disruption caused by the incident reportedly resulted in two full days of lost production time. The letter called for the production team to take immediate steps to ensure that the environment on set is safe and conducive to creative work.
