Ex-Bafana Bafana Midfielder Lebogang Morula’s Family Exposes Motive Behind His Murder
The family of the late former Bafana Bafana footballer, Lebogang Morula (56), has shared a possible motive behind his recent murder, which appears to have been a targeted hit.
Morula, who was known for his time as a midfielder with Jomo Cosmos and the national team, Bafana Bafana, was tragically shot and killed at his family home in Moumong, Mmakau, North West, on Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. He was getting into his white Toyota Hilux, preparing to buy electricity tokens from a nearby shop, when he was ambushed. Neighbours tried to pursue the attackers, but they fired shots into the air before speeding away in a red car.

Lebogang Morula’s Family Exposes Motive Behind His Murder
Elizabeth Morula, Lebogang’s 81-year-old mother, told Daily Sun that her son was shot five times in the chest and thigh. The family suspects the attack may be linked to his involvement in a local project. Lebogang ran a security company and was overseeing the security for this project.
“I was very close to my son. He died while still busy building me a big house,” she said.
Lebogang’s nephew, Karabo Huma (40), corroborated the family’s account, stating that his uncle’s security company was indeed guarding the local project in the area.
