Ex-PSL Star Aviwe Nyamande Held at Gunpoint in Shocking Midrand Parking Dispute

A former Premier Soccer League (PSL) player is still reeling from a terrifying experience after having a gun pointed at his head in central Gauteng.

A source recounted that Aviwe Nyamande, who once played as a defender for Bloemfontein Celtic and Royal AM, was held at gunpoint by an unknown man in Midrand on Monday.

“There is a problem here and it involves Aviwe Nyamande, who is a professional footballer and a former Bloemfontein Celtic player, and was held at gunpoint by some random guy at Midrand in Gauteng,” the source told KickOff.

The incident occurred as Nyamande waited to pick up a child from school. According to the source, the man pointed a gun at Aviwe Nyamande during a disagreement over parking space.

“The incident happened on Monday this week outside a school in Midrand where he was there to fetch a child. So while he was in the car at a parking lot along with the other parents or drivers who were there to fetch children from school, drama ensued as this random guy who was driving who was driving in a Range Rover started being aggressive during an argument over parking,” the source said.

The source said the driver of the Range Rover lost his cool and went back to his car where he retrieved a gun.

“Within no time, the argument escalated into something else as the guy went back to his car and came back with a gun in hand and pointed it at Aviwe. As Aviwe closed the car windows and locked the doors on realising that his life was at risk, the guy was so aggressive and wouldn’t listen to anyone and was asking his target if he knew who he was,” the source narrated.

The frightening encounter has left Nyamande deeply shaken. When contacted by KickOff, he confirmed the incident, saying he’s struggling to come to terms with the near-death experience and has been having sleepless nights since.

Although Nyamande, now 31, hasn’t officially retired, he is currently without a club.
