Their marriage, which began a few years ago, ended last year when the actress filed for divorce. The settlement agreement between the actress and her ex-husband kept anonymous for legal reasons, was finalised in November of that year.

According to the legal papers, the actress agreed to a one-time spousal maintenance payment of R360,000 for her ex-husband’s accommodation and R120,000 for his furniture and household needs. The actress fulfilled this agreement by making a total payment of R480,000, which was split into two instalments.

“In terms of cause 3 of the settlement agreement, the plaintiff agreed to pay the defendant a once-off spousal maintenance sum of R360 000 towards his accommodation. In terms of clause 4, the plaintiff agreed to pay the defendant the sum of R120 000, towards his furniture and household necessities. The plaintiff has already complied with clause 3 and 4 of the divorce settlement agreement and made a total payment of R480 000 to the defendant,” read the papers.

Ex-Skeem Saam Actress’ Decree of Divorce and Settlement Confirmation

The first payment of R240,000 was transferred to her ex-husband’s account on November 15, with the remaining amount paid on November 20. Since the couple didn’t have children, there were no additional legal steps required before their divorce was finalised.

Both parties sought a swift divorce decree and the confirmation of their settlement agreement.

The actress’s lawyer, Mabu Marweshe from Marweshe Attorneys, verified that he represented the actress. However, attempts by Sunday World to reach the actress for comments were unsuccessful as she didn’t respond to calls or texts.
