Faith Under Fire: Pastor Shot Dead In Front of Congregants During Prayer Service

In a horrifying display of violence, a peaceful prayer service turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy as a beloved pastor was mercilessly gunned down in front of his congregation.

The shocking incident unfolded in a small church located in the serene Nseleni township, outside Richards Bay, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to Zimoja, the pastor, widely respected for his unwavering faith and commitment to his flock, was identified as John Myaka, who also served as a councilor at the Mhlathuze Local Municipality.

As the congregation gathered to seek solace and spiritual guidance, their sanctuary was shattered by the sound of gunshots that reverberated through the hallowed space.

Two armed assailants reportedly entered his home-turned-church and mercilessly gunned him down in front of his distraught congregants.

Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind this brutal act, as Myaka had no known enemies and was never involved in politics until recently. His entry into the political arena came at the urging of ACDP provincial leader, Bishop Eric Manqele, who recognized Myaka’s untapped potential. Together, they embarked on a mission to expand the party’s influence in KwaZulu-Natal, a journey tragically cut short by this heinous crime.

Expressing his shock and grief, Bishop Manqele emphasized the urgency of apprehending the culprits responsible for this horrific act.

The ACDP vehemently condemns this brutal act of violence and implores law enforcement agencies to ensure swift justice for our fallen comrade,” he stated.

The ACDP, a party advocating Christian values and principles, called for an end to the escalating crime rate in the region, urging both provincial and national authorities to take immediate action.
