Former Bafana Bafana Star Lebogang Morula Shot Dead
In a shocking and tragic incident, former professional footballer Lebogang Morula, 57, has been killed in a shooting outside his family home in Mmakau, North West.

Former Bafana Bafana Star Shot Dead: Mother Shares Details
The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, August 7th, as Morula was leaving his residence to purchase electricity tokens. According to his mother, Elizabeth Morula (81), her son was shot by unknown assailants at the gate of their home.
“My son told me that the electricity is too low and wants to purchase it. When he was at the gate, about to leave, I heard gunshots. My son was shot and killed by thugs,” a devastated Elizabeth Morula told Daily Sun.
The family is still reeling from the tragic loss, struggling to come to terms with Lebogang Morula’s sudden and violent death.
“We’re still traumatised and don’t know why they wanted him dead,” the grieving mother added.
Elizabeth Morula told the publication that the family needs space to come to terms with his death.

Lebogang Morula’s Football Legacy
Lebogang Morula had an impressive soccer career, starting out with Jomo Cosmos before moving to Colombian club Once Caldas in 1995. He also represented South Africa’s national team, the Bafana Bafana, at the 1998 World Cup in France.
