Former Kaizer Chiefs Footballer Simphiwe Mkhonza Dies

In a sad development, former Kaizer Chiefs defender and SABC football analyst Simphiwe Mkhonza has died. He was 44 years old.

Simphiwe Mkhonza popularly known as Dr Mnandi has passed away after a battle with an undisclosed illness.

He had been hospitalized and later discharged but succumbed to the illness.

At the time of reporting, details about his death are still sketchy.

Siphiwe Mkhonza Football career

Siphiwe Mkhonza, a former South African soccer player, was known for his skilful play as a centre-back. According to iDiski Times, throughout his career, he represented various clubs in South Africa, including Bloemfontein Celtic, Ria Stars, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United, Maritzburg United, AmaZulu, and Black Leopards.

Mkhonza also had the honor of earning seven caps while playing for the South Africa national soccer team.
