Confirming his passing, Mulo’s family released a statement expressing their deep sorrow. “It’s with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Nhlamulo on the morning of 16 December 2023. He passed away peacefully at his home in Bryanston after his battle with cancer,” the family conveyed. Grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers, they reflected on Mulo’s positive impact on numerous lives.

Mulo, a former producer and DJ on YFM, co-hosted the MVP Jam game show on eTV alongside Dineo Ranaka. He was also known for his marriage to fellow TV presenter Ntokozo Molefe, with whom he had a 3-year-old son.

Months before his passing, Mulo candidly shared his cancer diagnosis on social media. He recounted the beginning of his journey with excruciating abdominal pains that eventually led to the discovery of his condition. In a statement made during his battle, he expressed gratitude for the support and affirmed his determination to overcome the challenges. “I’m not out of the woods yet; my treatment continues, and I’d like to thank everyone who’s been there for me,” he remarked at the time.
