The sparkling stage of the Sun City Superbowl in North West Province witnessed a new star rise on Saturday night as 18-year-old Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg clinched the coveted title of Miss World South Africa 2024. Competing against a strong pool of contestants, Zoalize’s victory solidified her status as a young powerhouse, ready to take on the world stage.
Family Support: A Key Ingredient to Success
Her family could hardly contain their pride as they watched Zoalize claim her moment of glory. Her brother, expressing heartfelt admiration, shared,
“I am beyond proud of her. The dedication and perseverance she has shown over the years have truly paid off.”
Her mother, Lizelle Jansen van Rensburg, was equally emotional, emphasizing the significance of this achievement:
“This is such a blessing in our lives. We have always believed in her potential, and seeing her thrive on this stage is a dream come true.”
Her mother reminisced that growing up Zoalize was not pageant girl.
“She used to run around in her gumboots and experiment with short hairstyles. But this just goes to show that dreams evolve, and Zoalize’s journey is proof that passion and purpose can lead to remarkable outcomes.”
Judging Panel and Their Role
The pageant night featured a distinguished panel of judges, comprising industry experts such as Rea Malatji, Ntsoaki Ledimo, Malaak Compton-Rock, Norman Cahi, and Taibar Bacar. They faced a challenging task as they assessed the grace, poise, and intelligence of the contestants. Ultimately, it was Zoalize’s unique blend of authenticity and purpose-driven vision that set her apart.
Following in the Footsteps of a Pioneer
Zoalize’s victory comes after the inaugural success of Dr. Claude Mashego, who made history as the first-ever Miss World South Africa last year. As Zoalize steps into this prestigious role, she will be carrying forward a legacy of grace, strength, and service. Representing South Africa on the international stage, Zoalize is set to make her mark at the Miss World 2025 finals, which will take place in February at a venue to be announced by the London-based Miss World Organisation.
