Amapiano hitmaker Young Stunna is in trouble as he faces a R1 million lawsuit over controversial drama regarding a gig.
A KwaZulu-Natal events company is suing Young Stunna, Kabza de Small’s record label Piano Hub, and Stunna’s agent Lawk Communications over a million rands after the Sete hitmaker pulled a no-show at a fully paid gig last year.
Young Stunna Hit With R1 Million Lawsuit
According to court papers, Durban Base Entertainment (DBE) is demanding over R1 176 000 from the amapiano artist and his associates for failing to show up at their event called Durban Meets Jozi, where he was supposed to share the stage with amapiano rising star Mfana Kah Gogo on September 17, 2022.
DBE’s lawyers, Motalene Inc., sent a letter to Young Stunna’s booking agent and record label on October 18, 2022, stating that they had breached the contract and caused damages to their client. Young Stunna had received R40 000 as a deposit for his performance and DBE had spent R8 000 on his transportation, R2 500 on the stage, R2 500 on sound, R3 500 on security, R1 000 on lighting, R3 500 on a tent, R7 500 on furniture, and R7 500 on Young Stunna’s hospitality rider, among other expenses.
The letter further stated that Young Stunna’s failure to appear at the event had resulted in a loss of revenue, reputation, and goodwill for DBE, as well as a breach of trust and confidence with their customers and sponsors. DBE demanded that Young Stunna and his associates pay the full amount of R1 176 000 within 14 days or face legal action.
Unending Gig Drama
Neither Young Stunna nor his booking agent or record label have responded to the letter or the lawsuit as of yet.

This is not the first time the amapiano artist has faced backlash for failing to honour his bookings. Recently, he trended after walking out of a gig before performing. The promoter booked him to perform at Underground Pub in Mount Frere in the Eastern Cape over the weekend. He however left without performing after refusing to sit next to an unknown artist.
