She is indeed a matriarch! Sis is multi-talented!

Did you know, aside from playing the ruthless and callous mining magnate, Lindiwe Dikana on 1 Magic’s The River, Sindi Dlathu is also the one who sings the theme song of the show.

The River showrunners decided to keep it in the house and have the leading lady, Sindi Dlathu lends her vocals to the theme song.

The actress once revealed to Drum Magazine that most people are surprised that she can sing

“A lot of people didn’t know I sang.” she said

This is not much of a surprise, as Sindi has done theatre a lot, she toured the world with Mbongeni Ngema, singing and dancing on stage, performing in Sarafina, so she definitely has her pipes in tune.

The River bosses, Phathutshedzo Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon asked her to perform the show’s opening song. They roped in renowned SA composer Brendan Jury and Monde Msutwana of Idols SA fame to write the original track.

The actress who has accomplished a lot, for nearly 20 years in the film industry, says the key to success is hard work and a willingness to learn.

Although she is an open book onscreen, Sindi is fiercely protective of her private life, choosing to keep it on the low

Sindi Dlathu is married to Okielant Nkosi and the couple has two daughters.

She also has a twin sister who looks nearly identical to her and they occasionally post snaps together on the gram.
