Graveyard Gone Wild: Tshwane Residents Aghast as Thigh Vendors Spice Up the Silent Nights with Tlof Tlof At Mamelodi Cemetery

A cemetery in B3 Mamelodi, Tshwane, has become a hotspot for thigh vendors who are using the burial site as their tlof tlof workplace.

Residents are appalled by the sight of vendors offering tlof tlof under trees and even on top of tombstones, showing no respect for the dead.

Daily Sun spoke to one of the ladies, who said that they moved their business to the cemetery to escape the police on the main road. They also said that they target men who are suffering and in pain after losing their loved ones. They approach them quietly when they come to clean the graves of their relatives.

The thigh vendors defended their actions, saying that they are just trying to make a living. They also claimed that they leave the tombstones clean after their encounters and throw away used condoms responsibly.

However, not everyone is convinced by their arguments. Some residents have expressed their fears and frustrations about visiting the gravesite due to the presence of tlof tlof workers. They are worried about potential theft and a loss of safety in the area.

This is not the first time that a cemetery in Tshwane has been used for tlof tlof. In 2018, the City of Tshwane demolished a drug “hellhole” at Eersterust Cemetery’s front office, which was believed to be harbouring nyaope addicts who were terrorising members of the community.

The situation at Mamelodi Cemetery has sparked controversy, as it raises questions about respect for the dead and the well-being of those who visit their graves.
