Thando Thabethe, a renowned radio presenter and model, has recently shared candid details about the turbulent conclusion of her romantic journey with ex-boyfriend, Lunga Shabalala.
Thando Thabethe, the well-known radio presenter of a popular drive-time show on 947 radio station, has come forward with allegations of unusual behavior and harassment by Lunga Shabalala following their separation in October last year.
According to City Press, Thando Thabethe took proactive measures to protect her safety and well-being by securing an interim protection order against Lunga Shabalala at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 2, 2023.
The granted order reveals a string of troubling incidents, including an alleged break-in at Thabethe’s residence in March 2023, which she believes to be connected to Shabalala.
In the court document, Thando Thabethe provided a detailed account of her experiences, shedding light on Shabalala’s relentless presence and unwelcome intrusions into her life.
She revealed instances of him following her, unexpectedly showing up on a production set, and even making threats to disrupt ongoing activities.
The document also references a specific incident on March 3, 2023, where Shabalala gained access to Thabethe’s residential complex under false pretenses, attempting to retrieve his belongings.
According to the court document, when Lunga Shabalala discovered Thando Thabethe’s absence, he resorted to repeatedly contacting her best friend to inquire about her location.
Furthermore, the document highlights additional incidents, such as Shabalala appearing at Thabethe’s workplace on May 5, 2023, and following her to a nearby restaurant on May 12, 2023.
Thabethe, who was recently linked to a romantic relationship with fellow radiocaster Robert Marawa, expressed her concerns, stating,
“He is currently harassing me over anything.”
Thando Thabethe asserted that Lunga Shabalala persistently monitors her activities and resorts to publicly criticizing her on various social media platforms.
She expressed her unease regarding his behavior, stating that he intentionally creates situations to initiate contact and even goes as far as mentioning incidents where he observes her lights turning off, which is a clear invasion of her privacy.
Thabethe further highlighted an incident where Shabalala became upset upon learning that she had traveled to Durban, demanding to know who accompanied her during the trip.
