This incident is not isolated. In 2023, during a contentious divorce, Emtee’s estranged wife, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy, accused him of drug addiction. She filed an assault case against him, claiming he was a drug user, as reported by Sunday World. Although she later withdrew the charges, the allegations had already caused significant public concern.

The police report stated, “The complainant alleges that her husband is assaulting her and invading her privacy on social media. The husband is known as Mthembeni Ndevu. The complainant alleges that he is also a drug user. Case docket opened for further police investigations,” according to Sunday World.

Emtee’s Response to Allegations

Emtee has consistently denied these allegations. In response to his wife’s claims, he told Sunday World, “Firstly, I don’t know what she is talking about because I’m not on drugs.” He also addressed the rumours on social media, declaring,

“All this drug talk is pissin’ me off. I even quit Lean. I’ve been sober for a minute, so don’t come to me with that drug talk sh**. I’m done with that life! Stop trying to push agendas here.”

The rapper’s recent interview has amplified concerns about his well-being.
