Leeroy Sidambe has found himself in the spotlight again after sharing that he was scammed out of R200K  by an individual acting like the owner of a Villa in Capetown. The businessman had booked a Capetown Villa for his kid’s holiday from the 28th of December to the 4th of January.

Holiday booking turned into a nightmare.

According to the screenshots shared by the gossip blog Maphephandaba, Leeroy Sidambe booked one of the Cape Beach Villas on Instagram. Sidambe shared all the screenshots of the conversations with the blog from before he made the payment afterwards.

The Villa, located in Bantry Bay, charged the businessman R18 000 per night.

Leeroy Sidambe showed interest in booking the Villa for seven days in the chats. The alleged company stated that they required a 50% deposit to make a booking of the Villa. Leeroy sent his details and made the payment to book the Villa.

Later, when Leeroy’s kids arrived in Capetown, the company revealed that the owners on the ground were not the ones listed on their website. In their communications, Leeroy demanded his refund, and the company said they only get 5% transaction fees from the owners who make the listing.

Refund drama and family stranded in Capetown.

The company told Sidambe that they would only open their business on the 8th of January and would process his refund then. This did not sit well with Leeroy, who demanded his refund then because his family was stranded with nowhere to stay in Capetown.

After unsuccessfully trying to get his money, Leeroy Sidambe threatens to open a fraud case against the company. He claims that he is traumatised from the whole ordeal, as he was in Dubai when it all happened. The Cape Beach, Villas Instagram page, has since been deleted when the scam started to trend.
