“I Never Imagined Getting Divorced”: Minnie Dlamini Spills On Divorce From Quinton Jones
Television personality Minnie Dlamini has opened up concerning her divorce from her estranged husband Quinton Jones.
Minnie Dlamini made an appearance on 702 as a guest, where she was interviewed by presenter Relebogile Mabotja, the host of The Upside of Failure podcast, ZAlebs reports.
Public figures face the challenging task of managing their failures in the public eye, which can be arduous.
Minnie Dlamini, for instance, had to grapple with the dissolution of her marriage and the collapse of her business venture with The Mansion.
Minnie responded to the allegations against her and asserted that the truth was known to her family and friends. This was in response to widespread speculation that the cause of her divorce was her alleged infidelity.
“When people over-sensationalise, over-dramatise, create lies about you, it’s one of the most painful things because I can’t shut from the rooftops to everyone and explain my truth. At the end of the day, I also feel as though I don’t need to. As long as my close family and friends know what the truth is and what is going on, those are the relationships and those are the people that I feel I owe an explanation to. Everyone else will just figure it out when they figure it out,” said the actress.
Minnie also revealed that her marriage had ended long before she made the public announcement about it.
“People need to understand that when a marriage ends, it doesn’t end at the announcement or the day before the announcement, it ends long before that.
“By the time I announced, I had gone through a lot of the processes already. At the time of the announcement, it felt like a really big relief and a weight off my shoulders,” Minnie added.
“I never imagined getting divorced. I always thought that I would raise my kids how I was raised. I just felt like for me, timing was off, I felt like I didn’t know myself. Furthermore, I went on to further lose myself in my marriage.”
Minnie Dlamini And Quinton Jones Announce Divorce
In an official statement, actress and model Minnie Dlamini broke the hearts of many South Africans when she announced that she and her estranged husband, television producer Quinton Jones, had initiated divorce proceedings.
Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones exchanged their vows in a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony at Glen Hills in northern Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on July 8, 2017.
They then celebrated their union in a white wedding at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West on September 16, 2017, which was widely celebrated by South Africans who looked up to them as the perfect couple.
However, in the statement that was shared sometime in February last year, Minnie Dlamini stated that following several months of separation and consultations with their family and a counselor, they had reached the difficult decision to initiate divorce proceedings.
