Social media erupted angrily after Chidimma Adetshina took the Miss Universe Nigeria title home. Many Nigerians are saying that the competition was rigged so that the former Miss South Africa contestant would win from the start.
After withdrawing from the Miss South Africa pageant due to intense social media harassment and questions surrounding her South African citizenship, Chidimma “Chichi” Adetshina found new hope in a different competition. Representing Taraba State, the Silverbird Group invited Chichi to participate in Miss Universe Nigeria—a decision that ultimately led to her triumphant win.

At just 23 years old, Chidimma Adetshina has already faced significant challenges in her journey. Allegedly born and raised in South Africa to a Mozambican mother and a Nigerian father, Chichi competed against some of Nigeria’s finest contestants and emerged victorious. Social media reactions after her win
After her triumph last night, Chidimma is facing many mixed reactions on social media. Many South Africans celebrated with her after she took the title home.
However, Nigerians seem to think that the competition was rigged. According to many opinions, Chidimma did not answer satisfactorily in the question-and-answer segment of the competition. Many believe the contestant representing Kwara state was supposed to win and change history.
