It’s Giving Senzo Meyiwa Vibes| Social Media Abuzz As Police Arrest Three Suspects In AKA’s Murder Case
The arrest of three people in relation to the murder case of AKA has triggered speculation on social media.
According to reports, the police have taken three suspects into custody in Cape Town.
IOL has reported that the police arrested the suspects on Sunday after monitoring them for a week.
However, the arrest of the trio has generated more uncertainty than clarity, as people are concerned that AKA’s case will end up like Senzo Meyiwa’s, with more questions than answers.
There is a suspicion among social media users that the authorities might use the three suspects as scapegoats, just as they did in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case, where five individuals were reportedly arrested wrongly for the crime.
Below are some of the comments on social media:
@MaSbhene;
Senzo Meyiwa’s case repeating itself here, 99.9% chances that those are the wrong people they arrested
@ELVIS_Kgalene;
As soon as I saw the headlines something told me, Season 2 of Senzo Meyiwa will be on screen soon #RIP Senzo. Did they arrest the correct people is my question. I don’t trust SAPS
@Hanibiko;
In SA you could just be walking around then Saps arrest you for a crime you didn’t commit just so they have a lead and a suspect. We live in a mafia state, Senzo Meyiwa, and Thabo Bester case just proves how our politicians are well connected🚮🤬🥵
@MightiJamie;
To avoid a Senzo Meyiwa situation serious journalistic questions need to be asked about the #AKA case arrests.
Including questions about timing. Questions about the charges. Questions about the quality of evidence, exculpatory and incriminatory.
This story must be covered at the same level of focus and quality that the Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp story was covered.
I sincerely hope that the arrests were not a public relations stunt because the public was complaining about the Thabo Bester escape.
