Jealous Katlehong Lover Burns Himself And Four Innocent Children To Death In Horrific Revenge
A jealous lover from Katlehong resorted to an act of horrific revenge, resulting in the tragic deaths of himself and four innocent children. The incident occurred after the man’s girlfriend rejected him upon discovering her in the company of another man.
A Shocking Act of Betrayal
The man, identified as Monaheng Moloi, was overwhelmed with rage when his girlfriend refused to accompany him home. Enraged and heartbroken, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
A Terrifying Display of Fury
Moloi proceeded to his girlfriend’s residence, where he found four children inside a shack. In a fit of anger and vengeance, he set fire to the structure, which ultimately led to the devastating loss of innocent lives.
A Family Devastated
The family of the victims is now grappling with unimaginable grief and seeking answers to this senseless tragedy. Mfundo Lunika, a spokesperson for the family, recounted the harrowing incident:
“I had just returned from the taxi rank where I work as a driver, and I was inside my shack. I requested my partner to prepare food for me so I could eat and rest. As she was preparing the bed, some passersby alerted us that a shack in our yard was on fire.
When I rushed outside to assess the situation, I realized that four children were trapped inside. The flames were too intense, making it difficult to enter. We attempted to remove a side of the shack to gain access to the children, but our efforts were in vain. One of the fathers bravely entered the burning shack in an attempt to rescue the kids but tragically ended up sustaining severe burns. He is currently in the ICU.”
The Devastating Impact
Heartbreakingly, none of the children who perished in the fire were related to Moloi. Lunika explained that the four kids were the offspring of his three sisters. Two of his sisters were visiting for the long weekend and shared the same mother. The situation is an utter mess, leaving Lunika traumatized with haunting memories of his nieces and nephew lying lifeless.
The intensity of the blaze resulted in the children being unrecognizable. On the night of the incident, one of his sisters did not sleep at home. When Moloi discovered her with another man and asked her to return with him, her refusal likely triggered Moloi’s retaliatory and enraged actions, Lunika added.
A Mother’s Unimaginable Loss
Moloi’s mother, Thabitha Moloi, last saw her son when she sent him to buy snuff for her. However, he never returned. The devastating news of the fire and tragedy reached her when concerned individuals contacted her.
Upon arrival at the scene, she witnessed the charred remains of the shack. Although she had never visited that particular house before, she was familiar with her son’s girlfriend as he often brought her around. Thabitha is shattered and struggling to comprehend the magnitude of this profound loss.
Confirmation of Tragedy
Ekurhuleni EMS spokesperson Maswati Mdluli confirmed the tragic incident, stating:
“When we arrived, the community had attempted to extinguish the fire, but it was spreading rapidly. Our team managed to dampen the flames, and a search was conducted as there were reports of possible casualties. We discovered five bodies, four of whom were children, with the eldest being 10 years old. There was also an adult body, aged 31, although we are unable to confirm the gender. The bodies were charred beyond recognition and scattered across two bedrooms.”
