Joslin Smith Allegedly Sold by Mother for R20,000 in Shocking Missing Case

In a surprising turn of events, Joshlin Smith, who went missing on February 19, has allegedly been sold by her own mother for R20,000.

The police in the Western Cape have made a significant breakthrough in the case. Two men have confessed to selling the young girl from Saldanha Bay for “Muthi.”

Search Operation and Anticipated Arrests

As a result, the police have identified four individuals who are considered persons of interest. They have been taken in for questioning. Joshlin, a six-year-old grade 1 student from Saldanha Bay, disappeared on February 19 when her mother, Kelly, left her in the care of her boyfriend while she went to work.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Joshlin’s mother, her boyfriend, and another woman were involved in selling the child for R20,000.

Over the past two weeks, an extensive search operation involving various police units, the South African Navy, and community members has been underway. Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa stated that arrests are imminent as four men have been taken in for questioning. Two of these men have already confessed to selling the girl for “muti.” According to sources from Netwerk24, the suspects allegedly admitted to selling the girl to a man in Middelpos for R20,000.

“The four individuals are aged between 26 and 34. As the investigation progresses, we hope to uncover the truth about what happened to the six-year-old girl. Arrests are likely as the investigation unfolds,” Poje explained.

Confirmation of Evidence Discovery

On Sunday, police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie confirmed that clothing, a sheet, and a knife were discovered late on Saturday evening in an open field about a kilometre away from Joshlin’s residence, where she lived with her mother Kelly, and her mother’s boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis.

“The investigation team immediately secured the scene and collected the pieces of clothing for further analysis at our forensic laboratory,” Poje stated.
