Kaizer Chiefs’ Molefi Ntseki Lauds Bafana Bafana’s Recent Triumph
In the wake of Bafana Bafana’s recent victory over DR Congo under the stewardship of Hugo Broos, Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, Molefi Ntseki, has expressed his unwavering support for the national team.
Despite the spotlight recently cast on Broos for his comments about the performance of Chiefs players, Ntseki remains committed to backing Bafana Bafana.
Broos Under Scrutiny
Hugo Broos had drawn attention and raised eyebrows when he suggested that some Kaizer Chiefs players did not merit inclusion in the national squad based on their current performances.
However, fate intervened as Themba Zwane succumbed to an injury, paving the way for Pule Mmodi’s return to the national setup.
Mmodi, in excellent form, featured prominently during the FIFA international break, contributing to South Africa’s 0-0 draw against Namibia and their 1-0 victory over Congo, a match that unfolded at Orlando Stadium.

Broos and Ntseki’s Meeting of Minds
During the national team camp, Hugo Broos hinted at his desire to meet with Molefi Ntseki, whom he had previously considered for the role of his assistant coach when he took over the helm in May 2021.
This potential rendezvous aims to chart a collaborative path forward. Importantly, Broos clarified that his comments were not intended as an attack on the Amakhosi boss.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Ntseki, in congratulatory remarks for Bafana Bafana’s recent triumph, praised the team’s performance against a formidable opponent.
“Congratulations to Bafana Bafana,” Ntseki stated, “I think they won a crucial game against a quality team. DRC is ranked higher than Bafana, and I think they have done very well.”
Notably, Ntseki did not disclose whether he and Broos had been in communication regarding their potential meeting.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Ntseki On Support for the National Team
Reiterating the commitment of Kaizer Chiefs to the national cause, Ntseki emphasized their role in nurturing and producing players for the national team.
“As Kaizer Chiefs, we’re delighted to see one of our top-quality players selected for Bafana Bafana,” he stated.
Regardless of the recent controversies, Ntseki conveyed the club’s unequivocal support for the national team and extended his best wishes to Coach Hugo as they prepare for the upcoming AFCON.
