On Tuesday, the court saw the appearance of the ninth suspect implicated in the audacious escape of Thabo Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer from South Africa.
Following the confirmation of the arrest of a Zimbabwean man named Zanda Moyo in relation to Thabo Bester’s escape, the police disclosed this information on Sunday.
Moyo’s court case has been adjourned until June 20, which coincides with the day when Bester, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, her father, and others are scheduled to appear in court once again.
As Moyo does not currently have legal representation, the Magistrate has advised him to either engage a lawyer or seek assistance from legal aid services.
Zimbabwean Man’s Role In Thabo Bester’s Escape Revealed
Throughout the court proceedings, this particular individual has consistently been implicated in their alleged involvement in assisting Thabo Bester in his escape from lawful custody.
The charges leveled against the Zimbabwean individual primarily revolve around aiding and abetting Thabo Bester in his escape, indicating their alleged active participation in the incident.
According to reports, the Zimbabwean individual was reported to have accompanied Dr. Nandipha Magudumana to a government hospital mortuary to retrieve the body of Katlego Bereng Mpholo.
This body was allegedly used as a decoy during Thabo Bester’s escape. The Zimbabwean individual posed as Katlego Bereng Mpholo’s brother in order to claim the body from the mortuary.
Furthermore, it is alleged that the same individual served as both Dr. Nandipha Magudumana’s driver and gardener. According to reports, he was given the task of picking up two passports belonging to Dr. Pashy, following instructions given by Dr. Nandipha Magudumana.
