Katlego Maboe Gets Kicked Out Of The SAFTAs Nomination List
Following news of his nomination at this year’s edition of South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in the best television presenter category, Katlego Maboe has sadly been booted of the nomination list just a few days after the announcement.
At this point, it is not clear why he was scrapped off the list by the awards organisers.
But it is quite obvious, he is still paying for his crimes.
Katlego fell from grace last year when his wife accused him of infecting her with an STI.
He also has a pending domestic violence issue with his ex-wife at court.
It was then revealed later that he had been sleeping around with his subordinates from OUTsurance company.
He later lost his jobs both as an Outsurance advertiser and an Expresso radio presenter.
Despite his bad publicity that has soiled his image, Katlego Maboe appears to hold a special spot in a lot of South Africans’ hearts.
He was voted by the public on this year’s SAFTAs edition for the Best TV presenter category along side Palesa Tembe, Dineo Ranaka, Entle Bizane, Devi Sankaree Govender, Waldimar Pelser and Katchie Nzama.
But then the awards organisers had a change of heart on Friday when they announced that they were taking him off from the list.
It seems they don’t want to associate themselves with the controversial media personality anymore.
News of his loss were shared by entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela on his microblog.

The NFVF says after some consideration, the SAFTAs jury has decided to rescind Katlego Maboe’s nomination in the BEST TV PRESENTER category.

And as expected, the news didn’t go well with the internet community that still supports him till date.
