Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes’ Shooter Explains Mysterious R100k Payment
Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi the person accused of shooting rapper AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, has made bold claims in a last-ditch effort to secure bail.

Previously, ZoomSouthafrica reported that Lindokuhle Ndimande, the fifth person implicated in the tragic murder of rapper AKA, had explained why he was alone at Wish Restaurant on the day when AKA was assassinated.
On Tuesday, Ndimande’s lawyer, advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa, presented a replying affidavit to challenge the evidence presented before Magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo. Mlotshwa stated that his client had gone to Wish Restaurant to meet an unidentified woman.
“I was at the Wish Restaurant to meet a woman who was a potential lover. After I waited for hours, she did not pitch, so I left. I know nothing about the shooting,” submitted Mlotshwa.
According to the prosecution’s case, Ndimande was assigned the role of a spotter, stationed at the restaurant to await AKA’s arrival. His task was to notify his accomplices once AKA had arrived. The hit was allegedly carried out by accused number one, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi.

Mkhwanazi also refuted that the R100,000 deposited into his wife’s account the day after AKA’s assassination was payment for the murder. Instead, he claimed it was intended for isipheko, traditional ceremony gifts, as he was getting married. The money was allegedly provided by Muziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, who is accused number four and considered a key figure in the assassination plot.
Mkhwanazi, Ndimande, Gwabeni, along with Eddie Myeza and Lindani Ndimande, are all charged with orchestrating the hit on AKA. The Ndimande brothers, two additional accused individuals, are currently awaiting an extradition application in eSwatini.
The case will resume on April 8, allowing the defence to proceed with their reply affidavits.
