Larona, who played Tumi Mokoena often got a lot of flack from the fans for ‘bad acting’.
The River fans had been calling for her head for a while, saying she ought to leave the show because she was given a role that was too big for her.
However, The River was Larona Moagi’s first acting job, prior to that, she had no experience with TV, so it might have taken her a while to grow into her role.
The actress revealed that she always wanted to act, however she also wanted an education so she studied a BA Law degree at Witswatersrand University.
“When it was time to go to varsity, I chose to do a BA Law degree while attending acting classes and auditions to keep the fire burning,”
Larona Moagi remarked that she worked with big names in the entertainment industry and didn’t feel intimidated at all and that acting skills develop over time as one gets to know their character.
“I don’t think you can get anywhere in life if you allow yourself to be intimidated. Just do your best. There are certain skills you develop as an actor and that is what you use when you portray the character. The character that you play meets you as a person and you make magic together on screen.”
