Content creator Lasizwe Dambuza has confirmed that he will go on a date with EFF President Julius Malema.
Malema will be a guest on Lasizwe’s SAFTA-nominated show, Awkward Dates. The announcement, initially leaked by gossip blogger Musa Khawula, sent social media into a frenzy.

Lasizwe, known for his comedic charm and innovative content, took to Instagram to officially confirm the news after Khawula broke it.
“The rumours are true… Julius Malema is coming to Awkward Dates! Sad I couldn’t announce myself but ke we here now! What should I ask my Juju on our date?” Dambuza wrote.
The show, which pairs Lasizwe with high-profile guests in humorous and often cringe-worthy scenarios, has become a fan favourite. Malema’s appearance is expected to be a major highlight, given his outspoken personality and polarising public image.
Musa Khawula, notorious for spilling insider gossip about South Africa’s biggest stars, shared a screenshot from Dambuza’s private diary entry, revealing the upcoming episode.
“Lasizwe Dambuza’s close friends reveal that Lasizwe will be going on an Awkward Date with politician-turned-socialite Julius Malema,” Khawula wrote.
Lasizwe expressed disappointment that the surprise was spoiled. In a series of Instagram stories, he admitted feeling betrayed by someone in his close circle.
