Legal Inspiration: Thabo Bester’s Lawyer Contemplates Following Dr. Nandipha’s Defense, Challenging Criminal’s Tanzania Capture
Thabo Bester’s attorney is contemplating adopting a strategy inspired by Dr. Nandipha Magudumana and intends to expose weaknesses in the re-arrest of the Facebook sexual abuser.
According to SABC News, Bester’s lawyer, Tshireledzo Ndou, has revealed that they are contemplating a similar approach to Dr. Nandipha Magudumana’s lawyer, who previously argued that her arrest in Tanzania and subsequent repatriation to South Africa constituted an unlawful abduction.
However, Ndou mentioned that there are some specific aspects that need to be addressed before finalizing their strategy.
“So that matter as much as we have not taken action yet, but it’s not off the table. It’s still something that we are discussing with the client and amongst us as a team.”

As Bester’s legal team continues to strategize, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana’s urgent application to declare her arrest as unlawful was brought before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 26 June.
Magudumana’s argument centers around the claim that she was forcibly taken, blindfolded, and transported to a Tanzanian airport by South African police, amounting to a kidnapping.
Her defense further asserts that the arresting officers lacked the jurisdiction to apprehend her on Tanzanian territory.
The National Prosecuting Authority and the Department of Home Affairs plan to challenge Magudumana’s application. The matter was postponed to Thursday, 1 June, EWN reported.
