Solly Moholo Hospitalized: LAM Launches Campaign to Cover R700k Medical Bills
Gospel music legend Solly Moholo remains in the hospital after he suffered a stroke in late August.
As his medical bills continue to climb, the Limpopo Artists Movement (LAM) is calling on the public, government, and fans to help cover the costs of his treatment.

LAM’s Plea for Assistance
According to the DailySun, Mphoza Mashabela, the provincial chairman of LAM, has made an urgent appeal for financial support for the award-winning singer. He emphasized the need for contributions, saying,
“We are asking those who love Solly Moholo to assist with his medical expenses. We are working closely with his family to ensure that he receives the necessary funds for his surgery.”
Mashabela revealed that the movement plans to meet with Sport, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton later this month to discuss how the government can help.
“We are requesting the Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture to assist the singer’s family. We are just waiting for his response to our appointment,” he added.

R700,000 Needed for Medical Treatment
Solly Moholo, known for hits like Thaba ya Sione, suffered a stroke on August 26 while on a promotional tour in Botswana for his upcoming album. His condition has left him in need of immediate surgery, and the total cost for his treatment is estimated at R700,000.
LAM is urging the public, as well as government entities, to help ease the financial burden on the beloved gospel star. Mashabela highlighted the impact Moholo has had on the country’s music and culture, stating,
“Solly Moholo has been a cherished figure in our artistic community, known for his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. He has touched countless lives, and now he needs our support.”
Fundraising Campaign in Motion
In response to the escalating costs, LAM has launched a fundraising campaign to gather the funds necessary for Moholo’s medical treatment.
“The medical expenses are substantial, and as a community deeply committed to supporting our artists, we are asking for your help. Any financial contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards covering Solly’s medical bills and aiding in his recovery,” Mashabela explained.
