Lockdown Actress Sharon Joins Isono
If you had gotten used to seeing Sharon around prison walls, as a prison warden on Lockdown, adjust your eyes to watching her on a different setting.
Actress Lindiwe Zulu, who is known for her role as Sharon on the award-winning prison drama, Lockdown is now part of the Isono cast.
Isono is definitely doing the most on SA television with its all-star cast increasing by the count.
Isono cast boasts of acclaimed actresses like Rami Chuene, Nthanti Moshesh and now another powerhouse Lindiwe Ndlovu has joined the cast.
Lindiwe Ndlovu will be playing the role of Francinah, who arrives in town together with her children, Tryphosa and Dombolo played by Mbali Zakwe Paballo Khoza.
The actress is not new to playing roles which require grey and sometimes straight-up dark characters.
In Zabalaza she played Sponono, a hardened criminal who spent 10 years behind the bars for murder.
Despite winning awards and playing such powerful characters, Lindiwe Ndlovu admitted that she initially didn’t want to be an actress.
Akin to her role on Lockdown where she plays a prison warden, the actress aspired to be a police officer then life happened.
She admitted that she was not academically gifted but acting have her confidence.
“I was a slow learner at school and I really didn’t like how things were going. I managed to pass my grades but I knew that I would never appear on the list of the top achievers. This discouraged me and made me hate school. I continued going to school until I finished high school. I was confused about what I wanted to do. There was an arts class at school and I decided to give it a try,”
It seemed that it paid off well because and she keeps landing lucrative roles.
