Mabonga wants to beat MacGLondie London's ex-boyfriend threatens to beat MacG-Image Source@X

Popular podcaster MacG, host of the largest podcast in Africa alongside co-hosts Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady, is facing a new controversy. Media personality Londie London’s ex-boyfriend, Sphamandla Mabonga, has allegedly issued threats of violence against MacG after being discussed on the ‘Podcast and Chill with MacG’ last week.

Mabonga, who gained attention in 2023 as Londie London’s new partner, allegedly warned MacG to refrain from mentioning him on the show. MacG, also known as Macgyver Mukwevho, attempted to file a case of intimidation at the Sandton police station, which redirected him to the Wynberg cop shop, where Mabonga is already under investigation for another matter.

Mabonga speaks on threats towards MacG

Speaking to Sunday World, Mabonga clarified that he has no intention of causing harm to MacG but simply wanted to convey a stern message to keep his name out of the podcast.

“I just told him not to put my name in his things. I told him that I am capable of hitting people, so he must not do that. He must get my name out of his YouTube things,”

Mabonga, who previously made headlines with Londie London, emphasized that he seeks peace away from the media spotlight, especially after a recent nightclub shooting incident in Johannesburg, resulting in his arrest and release on R1,000 bail.

Despite their breakup, Mabonga expressed his desire for privacy:

“Londie London and I are cool. We do talk, but we are not dating anymore. I really want you guys to stop talking about me. I am no celebrity; I am just a businessman, and being in the media all the time is putting me on bad terms with my people.”

MacG has not responded to the situation at the time of this report.

Resolving the Conflict

A conversation between Mabonga and the podcaster, as seen by Sunday World, indicates that the two have resolved their differences:

“I don’t want any problems with you, Bafo [my brother]. I will never speak about you.”

It remains to be seen how this conflict will impact MacG’s podcast, which boasts over 1.2 million subscribers and enjoys significant social media following, frequently trending due to celebrity interviews featured on the show.
