Frustration is boiling over among the residents of Bekkersdal, Gauteng, due to an alleged drug and tlof tlof heaven situated close to a local high school.

This dwelling has become a hotspot for criminal activities, raising fears of exposure to harmful influences for the area’s students.

According to locals who spoke with Daily Sun, the house, reportedly owned by a woman, has become a hub for drug dealing and tlof tlof. Concerned residents claim that the premises are consistently bustling with customers and visitors, particularly during the nighttime and weekends. The frequent occurrences of loud music, shouts, and gunshots from the house further fuel their apprehensions.

Despite multiple reports to the police, residents believe that little action has been taken to halt the unlawful operations. They express scepticism, suggesting that the police may be reluctant or corrupt, potentially failing to safeguard the community’s welfare.

The situation is further compounded by the proximity of the house to Bekkersdal High School. Community members worry about learners’ well-being abound, as some are reportedly being lured into the house by drug dealers and tlof tlof vendors offering money, drugs, or the substance itself. This alarming trend is seen as exposing young people to the dangers of disease, addiction, and exploitation.

The community is demanding the immediate closure of the problematic house and the arrest of its owner.

Mr Molefe, the principal of Bekkersdal High School, acknowledged the disturbing situation. He reported the issue to both the police and education department and expressed concern to the media over the adverse effects on students. Some learners have dropped out, while others exhibit signs of drug use or pregnancy.

Police spokesperson Captain Mokoena, however, indicated no prior knowledge of these complaints. He committed to investigating the matter and taking appropriate action if unlawful activities are substantiated.
