Man Arrested After Crashing Into Jacob Zuma In KZN Accident
The 51-year-old man has been arrested for drunken driving and reckless and negligent driving. However, some members of the MK party suspect foul play, citing previous warnings about potential threats to Zuma’s safety.
This event comes amid a politically charged atmosphere, as Zuma has been suspended by the African National Congress (ANC) and is actively campaigning for the MK party ahead of May’s general election. The crash also coincided with the electoral commission’s announcement that Zuma is barred from running as a candidate in the upcoming election due to a previous jail sentence.
The incident has raised concerns and speculations within the MK party and among Zuma’s supporters. The police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, and further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
Foul Play Suspicions
Insiders in the MK suspect this was a deliberate attempt to harm Zuma:
“I would say that people are up to their old tricks. The presidential convoy was on its way to the Nkandla homestead from Durban when the incident happened. It was in the evening. A driver drove into the main car carrying the former president. The car did not overturn; it was purposely crashed into by another car. Someone drove directly into the presidential convoy. It means they know exactly what they are doing. He is fine and at home.”
