Maskandi artist Khuthuza has been arrested after getting into a physical fight with a social media influencer over a girl.
Khuthuza turned himself in following a physical altercation with Afrotainment social media influencer Samkelo Shezi at KwaMaiMai in Johannesburg’s CBD. The incident, which occurred last weekend, escalated into a public brawl, resulting in Shezi filing an assault case against Khuthuza.

Zimoja reported that the altercation between the two personalities started after a series of exchanges on social media, where insults and unpleasant words were traded over a girl. Matters came to a head when Shezi publicly challenged Khuthuza to a fight by sharing his location. Khuthuza, who happened to be nearby, accepted the challenge, leading to a heated confrontation at the venue.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the verbal exchange quickly turned physical as the two men began attacking each other until security intervened to separate them. Shezi filed an assault case with the Jeppe police on Tuesday, prompting authorities to launch a search for Khuthuza.
The Arrest
Khuthuza voluntarily surrendered himself to the police and, on the same day, appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate Court, facing assault charges related to the altercation with Shezi. In his defence, Khuthuza claimed that Shezi harboured jealousy towards his success and aimed to undermine him.
Following his court appearance, Khuthuza expressed apprehension about the prospect of jail but remained defiant regarding Shezi.
“I’m more scared of jail, but I’m not scared of this boy,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Shezi asserted his desire to see Khuthuza face consequences for his actions:
“He thinks he is a starring -people like him end up in jail,” Shezi remarked.
Khuthuza was released on bail pending his next court appearance, scheduled for the following week. Additionally, he initiated a counter-assault case against Shezi, indicating that the legal battle between the two personalities is far from over.
