Master KG Set To Raise Money For Frontline Workers
Award winning music producer, Master KG, is set to assist in the raising of money meant for frontline workers and medical facilities across the continent come Saturday.
Yesterday BET Africa took to Instagram, announcing that it will be hosting a virtual concert dubbed Africa Rise, which is meant to raise funds for frontline workers and medical facilities across the continent.
“It’s time for Africa to rise! The Africa Rise free virtual concert is aimed at raising funds to purchase mobile clinics and upgrade medical centres throughout Africa. Support this movement by watching the virtual event,” said BET Africa.
The concert which will be held on Saturday will begin at will begin at 21:45 (C.A.T) and will see performances from Master KG, Makhadzi and other African artists.
Meanwhile, BET Africa also announced that it has a Valentine weekend special with a live virtual concert from Zandie Khumalo which will air on Sunday. The concert will be broadcast live from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and will see the singer performing many of her romantic songs.
“It’s the month of love, and this Valentine’s Day me, yes me, and my friends will be making your Valentine’s Day extra special,” wrote Zandie on her Instagram page.
Due to the current COVID-19 lockdown alert level three, relatively all live concerts have been put hold as they are deemed “super-spreaders” of the deadly virus. However, many artists have since come up with innovative ways of entertaining fans primarily through the virtual platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram amongst others where they are hosting their live shows. However, the monetary returns have not been the same as hosting a live physical show as most of these virtual shows are free unless they are sponsored by a certain private or governmental entity.
