False Claims and Reputation Damage
Mawhoo addressed the issue in a detailed statement seen by Zimoja, emphasizing that the accusations were not only baseless but also intended to harm her standing in the music industry.
“I hereby humbly request the promoter by the name of Eddz to immediately cease and desist from spreading false and harmful information about me and my music career,” she declared.
She asserted that these actions amount to defamation, causing harm to both her personal reputation and professional career.
“The false statements you have made about me, saying I failed to pitch at the Blouberg Spring Festival in Senwabarwana, Limpopo, are entirely unfounded and malicious,” she stated.
No Booking, No Payment
Clarifying the situation, Mawhoo explained that her team consistently follows up with promoters before any confirmed events, particularly concerning payments.
In this instance, she claimed no payment had been made in her name.
“Therefore, in this case, I was not booked, nor was I paid any deposit. I have enclosed proof in reference to the subject. I take pride in my craft and have worked tirelessly to build a reputable name in the music industry,” she added.
Demand for Retraction
Furthermore, in her statement, Mawhoo demanded that the promoter, Eddz, retract the false claims and remove all online content related to the accusations. She warned that legal action would follow if these demands were not met.
“I request that you retract all false accusations. Remove any related online posts and content,” she emphasized.
