In a series of WhatsApp messages exchanged between Thabo Mabogwane and Koketso Sefoka, the late DJ Sumbody’s younger brother, troubling allegations have emerged. A rift had apparently formed between the two over their joint venture, Ayepyep Lifestyle – a chain of restaurants and lounges that once harmonized success.
According to Sunday World, Mabogwane accused Dj Sumbody of siphoning money and assets from their shared enterprise, Ayepyep Lifestyle.
Legal Ripples: Lawsuit Filed Amidst Tensions
Amidst growing tensions, Thabo Mabogwane took legal action against DJ Sumbody in June 2023, merely a month before his own tragic death. Advocate Thabo Malatji, representing Mabogwane, confirmed that a lawsuit was filed to recover Mabogwane’s rightful share of profits from Ayepyep Lifestyle.
Mabogwane’s lawyer claims that he had invested R10 million in the business, but DJ Sumbody had allegedly diverted the funds to his personal accounts and other ventures.
DJ Sumbody’s Partner Secured R15 Million Life Insurance Before Mysterious Murder
Meanwhile, earlier on it was reported that preceding his tragic execution-style murder in Johannesburg, Kagiso Setsetse, a key associate of DJ Sumbody, purportedly acquired a substantial R15 million life insurance policy just one year prior.
