Murdah Bongz Opens Up About Struggles After Leaving Black Motion
The musician Murdah Bongz, formerly of Black Motion, recently spoke to Daily Sun about his journey after leaving the group to pursue a solo career. Bongani Mohosana, also known as Murdah or Morda, revealed that he initially struggled with his confidence but is now enjoying his solo career.
“I have experienced various emotions every day since making the decision,” said Bongz. “While everyone around me was celebrating my solo venture, I had to find the confidence within myself. I realized that in order to sell your product to others, you need to have confidence in it. You can’t deceive people.”
Bongz released his debut album, titled Asante, in 2022. One of the songs on the album, “Mohigan Sun,” features Oscar Mbo and Murumba Pitch.
“Oscar and Murumba Pitch have been with me from the beginning,” Bongz shared. “I believe that if the energy is genuine and the music is significant, then I connect with you.”
The talented musician reassured his fans that the album was just the start and that he is here to stay as Morda.
BLACK MOTION REPLACES MUSICIAN
Black Motion, the popular music group, made a replacement after Murdah Bongz’s departure. Kabelo “Problem Child” Koma joined the group as his replacement.
In January 2023, Black Motion and its company, Spirit Motion, accused Murdah Bongz of breaking into their studio, stealing equipment, and causing damages worth R500,000, according to The People’s Paper.
Speculation about Black Motion’s breakup arose in April 2022 when the group announced that Murdah had changed his name to Mörda and would pursue a solo DJing career, while Smol would venture into his own business.
In November 2022, ZAlebs reported that group member Thabo Smol indirectly confirmed Kabelo Koma as a new member of Black Motion.
